We are a purveyor of premium meats and seafood to our retail customers at our market in downtown Redding, and to our wholesale customers across the north state. R&R Quality Meats was originally founded in downtown Redding, California in 1971 by Roger Dawes and Robert Blagg and has grown through the years to become one of the most trusted suppliers of fine meats in Shasta County. Early on, the company created a wholesale operation at its retail location to expand its business and serve local restaurants and institutions.
In 2003, Charlie Lefort, who worked his way from a clean-up boy in the 1980's to store manager, purchased the company from Roger Dawes with three business partners. They worked to grow the company even more by purchasing Shasta Wholesale in Anderson, allowing for a larger and more efficient wholesale business.
In 2007, retail manager Jason Schlange and wholesale manager Warren Jimison joined Charlie as co- owners of the business. In 2012, they purchased the Buz's Crab building and opened a seafood market to keep the tradition of fresh crab and seafood alive in Redding. Over the next two years the entire building was renovated, and in 2014 the retail meat and seafood markets were combined to create R&R Quality Meats & Seafood.
Today, R&R Quality Meats & Seafood has one of the largest fresh meat and seafood displays in the North State, and a wholesale division with routes stretching across Northern California.
ALL NATURAL - GRASS FED, GRAIN FINISHED The minimum standard for our beef is all natural, grass-fed, grain finished beef. This is beef that is minimally processed, and is tested to ensure it does not contain added hormones or antibiotics. Our all natural beef comes from cattle that has spent the majority of its life-cycle eating grass on pastures. Grain feed is introduced during the last few months before they're harvested. It is the grain feed that gives beef it's choice grade and marbling, resulting in the most flavorful, juicy, and tender cuts.
FRESH GROUND SAUSAGES & LINKS Unlike most supermarkets, our ground sausages are made fresh in-store daily. We grind fresh cuts of pork and hand mix them with delicious seasonings and herbs. We currently offer mild-breakast, spicy, italian, and chorizo. Our fresh links are among the best you'll find. Made from flavorful pork shoulder, fresh casings, tasty seasonings and fresh-cut ingredients, these links are bursting with flavor. Some of our varieties include Italian, German, Linguica, Hawaiian, and Garlic.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC Our chicken is Grade A, all natural, and is not raised with antibiotics and growth hormones. Everyday we have a large selection of fresh, never-frozen boneless breasts, boneless thighs, drums and bone-in thighs, and whole fryers. As with our other meats, we source from only reputable chicken producers committed to animal welfare and product safety. We also offer certified organic chicken from Smart Chicken. Our organic chicken is fed an organic GMO-Free diet, and is also free range.

SUSTAINABLE, LOCAL SEAFOOD
We are Redding's largest retailer of fresh Dungeness Crab. We buy live crab from the docks and cook them up fresh in-store. We have the North State's largest seafood display and selection. When seasons and weather permit, we have fresh Wild-Caught Salmon, Oysters, Cods, Shrimp, Halibut, Catfish, Clams, Mussels, and more. Much of our fresh seafood comes from the California and Oregon coast, allowing us to provide our customers with unparalleled freshness, quality and selection.
